Possible Causes
Aged lithium‑ion cells with reduced capacity, Overheated battery due to clogged filters or blocked vents, Faulty battery temperature sensor, Defective battery management PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the robot or battery area feels hot, turn it OFF immediately and remove it from the dock. Allow it to cool in a well‑ventilated area away from flammable materials.
- 1. Let the robot cool: Wait at least 30 minutes before further handling if it was hot.
- 2. Improve airflow: Clean all air vents on the robot with a soft brush or vacuum. Ensure filters and dust bin are clean to reduce motor load and heat.
- 3. Full charge cycle: Place the robot on the dock and allow it to charge uninterrupted to 100%. Then run a full cleaning cycle and observe runtime.
- 4. Check environment: Avoid using the robot in very hot rooms (>35°C) which can trigger thermal protection.
- 5. Persistent E11 or very short runtime: The battery pack is likely worn or the temperature sensor is faulty. Have the Bosch battery pack replaced by an authorized technician; do not open the pack yourself.
