Possible Causes

Debris jammed in left or right drive wheel, Hair wrapped around wheel axle, Damaged wheel suspension spring, Faulty drive wheel motor or encoder

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off the robot and remove it from the dock. Avoid pressing the power button while working on the wheels.

  • Inspect both drive wheels: Flip the robot over. Check for hair, string, or carpet fibers wrapped around the wheel axles and inside the wheel wells.
  • Clean the axles: Use tweezers or a small brush to remove debris from around the wheel hubs and suspension area. Gently move the wheel up and down to free trapped dirt.
  • Check wheel movement: Manually rotate each wheel. They should turn smoothly with some resistance from the gearbox but no grinding or sticking.
  • Test on flat surface: Place the robot on a hard, flat floor and start a cleaning cycle. If the error only appears on thick rugs, the wheel motors may be overloading.
  • Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the bottom cover to access the left and right wheel modules. Check connectors to the main board and look for broken wires or corrosion.
  • If a wheel is seized or noisy: Replace the affected drive wheel module (left or right) with a Dreame-compatible assembly that includes motor, gearbox, and wheel.
