Possible Causes
Dust clogging the fan inlet, Blocked air duct or filter, Foreign object in fan impeller, Burned-out suction motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the robot and disconnect it from the dock. Do not insert fingers into the fan opening while powered.
- Check dustbin and filter: Remove the dustbin. Empty it completely and clean the primary filter. If your Dreame model uses a HEPA filter, tap it gently to remove dust or replace it if heavily clogged.
- Inspect air path: Look into the suction inlet and dustbin channel for blockages (paper, toys, large debris). Remove any obstructions with tweezers.
- Fan test: With the dustbin removed, power on the robot and start a cleaning cycle. Place your hand near the fan outlet to feel for airflow. If there is no airflow and the error appears, the fan motor may be faulty.
- Internal cleaning (advanced): Remove the top cover to access the suction fan module. Check for debris in the impeller and ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
- Replacement: If the fan is seized, noisy, or shows burn marks, replace the complete suction fan motor assembly with a Dreame-compatible unit.
