Possible Causes

Degraded lithium‑ion battery pack, Battery management PCB fault, Loose battery connector, Over‑temperature or over‑current lockout

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the robot OFF using the main power switch (if fitted) and remove it from the charging dock. Never open or puncture the battery pack. If the battery is swollen, hot, or leaking, do not use the machine.

  • Power cycle: Turn the main power switch off, wait 60 seconds, then turn it back on and try to start a clean.
  • Check charging contacts: Inspect the two metal contacts on the robot and on the dock. Clean them with a dry microfiber cloth. Do not use liquids.
  • Confirm charge: Place the robot on the dock and ensure the charging indicator shows charging for at least 3–4 hours. If the robot immediately shows full but still triggers F1, the pack may be failing.
  • Reseat battery (if accessible): On some Dyson robots, the battery is held by screws on the underside. With the robot powered off and unplugged, remove the screws, gently unplug the battery connector, inspect for corrosion or burning, then reconnect firmly and reinstall.
  • Replace battery pack: If runtime is very short or F1 persists, replace the battery pack with a genuine Dyson robot vacuum battery compatible with your model. Follow the user manual for the exact removal and installation steps.

If the robot still shows F1 after a new battery, the main control board or battery management circuit may be faulty and professional service is recommended.
