Possible Causes
Bin not fully seated, Broken bin latch, Faulty bin microswitch or magnet sensor, Damaged bin contacts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF before removing the bin.
- Remove and refit bin: Take out the dust bin/cyclone unit and reinstall it firmly until it clicks.
- Inspect latch: Check the bin latch and hooks for cracks or deformation. Replace the bin if the latch cannot hold it securely.
- Check sensor area: Look for a small switch or magnet area where the bin meets the body. Clean away dust with a dry brush.
If the robot still reports F17 with a correctly seated bin, the bin sensor or main board input may be faulty and require service.
