Possible Causes
Dirty or misaligned cliff sensors, Very dark or reflective flooring, Faulty cliff sensor board, Low ambient light
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep the robot away from actual stairs while testing.
- Clean cliff sensors: Wipe the underside cliff sensor windows with a dry cloth.
- Test on light floor: Place the robot on a light‑colored, non‑reflective floor and start a clean. If it moves normally there, your dark rug may be triggering the sensors.
- Adjust environment: Increase room lighting or move very dark rugs if possible.
If the robot still refuses to move forward on normal flooring, the cliff sensor board may be faulty and require replacement.
