Possible Causes
Dust buildup on cliff sensors, Smudges on front IR sensors, Film on top camera lens, Cleaning with harsh chemicals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF before cleaning sensors. Do not spray liquids directly onto the robot.
- 1. Use proper cloth: Clean all sensor windows (front, underside, top camera) with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth.
- 2. Lightly dampen if needed: If smudges persist, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner and wipe gently, then dry immediately.
- 3. Avoid abrasives: Do not use paper towels, alcohol, or solvents that can scratch or cloud plastic lenses.
- 4. Test navigation: After cleaning, run the robot in a well-lit room and observe navigation behavior.
- 5. Replace damaged lenses: If lenses are permanently fogged or scratched, replace the corresponding Electrolux sensor module or cover.
