Possible Causes
Debris jammed in left or right wheel, Wheel height adjustment mechanism clogged, Drive wheel motor gearbox worn or seized, Drive wheel motor encoder blocked
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Power off the robot and remove it from the dock.
- Inspect wheels: Turn the robot over. Spin each drive wheel by hand. They should rotate smoothly and spring up and down.
- Clear debris: Remove hair, threads, or carpet fibers wrapped around the wheel axles or stuck in the wheel wells.
- Check suspension: Press each wheel up and down to ensure it moves freely. Clean any dust or debris from the suspension cavity.
- Test movement: Power on the robot and start a cleaning cycle on a flat surface. Observe if one wheel fails to move.
- If E4 continues: The affected Drive Wheel Motor Assembly may have a damaged gearbox or encoder. Replace the left or right drive wheel module as needed. This typically requires removing the bottom cover, disconnecting the motor harness, and swapping the module.
