Robot vacuum will not start cleaning; short beep sequence and E1 shown in app or on display.

Safety first: Power the robot OFF using the main switch (if present) and remove it from the charging dock before opening any covers.

Steps to try:

• 1. Hard reset and recharge: Turn the robot off, wait 60 seconds, then place it firmly on the charging dock. Confirm the charging indicator lights up. Allow at least 4–6 hours of uninterrupted charging.
• 2. Check dock and power supply: Verify the Gorenje dock is plugged directly into a working wall outlet (avoid power strips). Confirm the dock LED is on. Clean the dock charging rails with a dry cloth.
• 3. Clean robot charging contacts: Wipe the robot’s underside charging pads with a dry microfiber cloth. If there is oxidation, lightly rub with a pencil eraser, then wipe clean.
• 4. Inspect battery connection (if accessible): Remove the battery cover (usually secured with small Phillips screws). Check that the battery plug is fully seated in the main board connector and that no wires are pinched or damaged.
• 5. Test battery health: After a full charge, start a cleaning cycle. If E1 reappears within a few minutes or the robot shuts off quickly, the battery pack is likely worn out and should be replaced with a compatible Gorenje Li‑ion pack.
• 6. When to call service: If the robot shows E1 even when on the dock, or the battery appears swollen, hot, or leaking, stop using it immediately and contact an authorized Gorenje service center.
