Possible Causes
Hair wrapped around main brush ends, Foreign object stuck in brush housing, Worn main brush bearings, Faulty main brush motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and remove the dustbin before working on the brush.
Steps to try:
- 1. Remove the main brush: Open the brush guard on the underside and lift out the main roller brush.
- 2. Clean brush thoroughly: Use the supplied cleaning tool or scissors to cut away hair and threads from the bristles and especially from both end caps.
- 3. Clean brush bearings: Remove the plastic end caps (if removable) and clear any hair or debris from the bearing area. Ensure the brush spins freely when held by the ends.
- 4. Inspect brush housing: Check inside the brush channel for lodged objects (toys, stones, etc.) and remove them.
- 5. Reinstall correctly: Refit the brush, ensuring the keyed end goes into the correct slot and the brush guard clicks firmly into place.
- 6. Test run: Power ON and start a cleaning cycle. If E4 reappears quickly, the brush motor or its gearbox may be worn and the main brush motor module should be replaced.
