Possible Causes
Hair wrapped around side brush shaft, Side brush bent and rubbing on chassis, Faulty side brush motor, Damaged side brush motor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF before touching the side brush.
Steps to try:
- 1. Remove side brush: Use a small screwdriver to remove the screw holding the side brush (if present), then pull the brush straight off the shaft.
- 2. Clean shaft and hub: Remove hair and fibers from the shaft and the underside of the side brush hub.
- 3. Inspect brush condition: If the bristles are severely bent or melted, replace the side brush with a new Gorenje‑compatible brush.
- 4. Check motor rotation: Gently turn the exposed motor shaft by hand; it should rotate with light resistance. If it is seized, the motor is likely damaged.
- 5. Reinstall and test: Refit the side brush and start a short cleaning cycle. If E5 persists, the side brush motor module or its wiring harness may need replacement.
