Possible Causes
Main brush motor overloaded, Suction fan motor failing, Hair buildup causing friction, Partial short on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately turn OFF the robot, remove it from the dock, and allow it to cool. Do not continue using it until inspected.
Steps to try:
- 1. Inspect main brush and side brush: Remove both and clear all hair and debris from shafts and bearings.
- 2. Check for melted plastic: Look around the brush housing and fan intake for signs of melting or discoloration.
- 3. Run short tests: With the robot upside down and brushes removed, briefly power it ON and listen for abnormal motor sounds or smell. Stop immediately if odor returns.
- 4. Identify hot area: Carefully feel (without touching moving parts) which area heats up fastest: brush motor, fan, or PCB region.
- 5. Replace failing component: Replace the overheating motor module (brush or fan) or main PCB as indicated. If unsure, seek professional service to avoid fire risk.
