Possible Causes
Hair wrapped around caster axle, Dirt in caster socket, Worn caster bearing, Rusted caster pin
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and flip the robot over before working on the caster.
Steps to try:
- 1. Remove caster wheel: Pull the front caster straight up to remove it from its socket (some models may require a small tool).
- 2. Clean axle and socket: Remove hair and dust from the axle and inside the socket using tweezers and a dry cloth.
- 3. Check rotation: Spin the caster wheel by hand. If it feels rough or sticks, replace it.
- 4. Reinstall caster: Push the cleaned or new caster back into the socket until it clicks.
- 5. Test navigation: Run the robot and confirm it turns smoothly without dragging.
