Possible Causes

Front IR sensor windows dirty, IR LED or receiver misaligned, Sensor board connector loose, Front IR sensor board failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot.

  • Clean front sensors: Locate the small dark windows on the front bumper or shell. Wipe them gently with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Check for cracks: Inspect the plastic windows for cracks or cloudiness that could block IR signals.
  • Test behavior: Turn the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle near a wall. If it repeatedly bumps hard into obstacles or fails to slow down, the front IR sensors may not be working.
  • Advanced repair: Remove the front cover or bumper to access the Front IR Sensor Board. Ensure the cable is firmly connected to the main PCB. Replace the board if there is visible damage or if cleaning does not restore function.
