Possible Causes
Loose battery connector, Depleted lithium battery pack, Faulty battery management PCB, Corroded battery terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF with the main power switch (if present) and remove it from the charging base. Do not short the battery terminals.
- Check the main power switch: Flip the underside power switch OFF, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back ON. Try starting a cleaning cycle.
- Inspect battery seating: Remove the battery cover (usually on the underside, secured by a few screws). Verify the Hoover lithium battery pack is firmly plugged into its connector and that the plug is fully seated.
- Check for corrosion or damage: Look for burnt marks, swollen battery pack, or green/white corrosion on the battery terminals or connector. If present, the battery pack should be replaced.
- Test on the dock: Place the robot on the Hoover charging base and confirm the charge indicator lights up. Leave it on charge for at least 3 hours, then try again.
- If E1 persists: Replace the battery pack with a compatible Hoover robot vacuum lithium battery. If the new battery does not resolve the issue, the internal power/battery management PCB may be faulty and should be serviced by a technician.
