Possible Causes
Dust on LDS window, LDS turret stuck or obstructed, Faulty LDS motor, Failed LDS sensor module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and avoid looking directly into any laser aperture.
- Locate LDS turret: On mapping models, this is the round raised module on top of the Hoover robot.
- Clean LDS window: Use a soft microfiber cloth to gently wipe the transparent ring or window around the turret.
- Check for obstruction: Ensure nothing is pressing on the turret. Gently rotate it by hand if it is designed to spin; it should move smoothly.
- Power cycle: Turn the main power switch OFF for 1 minute, then ON, and restart the robot.
- Firmware check: Using the Hoover app, check for firmware updates that may address sensor issues.
- If E11 persists: The LDS motor or sensor may have failed. Replacing the LDS / lidar module requires opening the top cover and should be done by a technician.
