Possible Causes
Hair or thread wrapped around left drive wheel, Hair or thread wrapped around right drive wheel, Faulty wheel motor encoder, Damaged wheel motor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and remove it from the dock before working on the wheels.
- Inspect both drive wheels: Flip the robot over. Spin each wheel by hand. They should rotate freely with a springy up-and-down movement.
- Remove debris: Use scissors or tweezers to cut and pull out hair, string, or carpet fibers wrapped around the wheel axles and inside the wheel wells.
- Check wheel travel: Press each wheel up and down. If a wheel is stuck or does not spring back, clean around the suspension area and check for lodged debris.
- Test again: Turn the robot back on and start a cleaning cycle on a flat, hard floor. If the error clears, the obstruction was the cause.
- If E2 persists on one side: The affected wheel motor or its encoder may be faulty. Replace the corresponding left or right drive wheel motor assembly. This usually requires removing the bottom cover, disconnecting the motor harness, and swapping the module.
