Possible Causes
Debris jammed behind front bumper, Stuck bumper micro-switches, Faulty front IR obstacle sensors, Misaligned bumper spring mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF before manipulating the bumper.
- Check bumper movement: Gently press the front bumper in and release. It should move freely and spring back without sticking.
- Clean behind bumper: Use compressed air or a thin brush to remove dust, hair, or debris from the gap between the bumper and the body.
- Inspect for impact damage: Look for cracks or deformation of the bumper that could cause it to jam.
- Power cycle: Turn the main power switch OFF for 30 seconds, then ON, and test again.
- If E7 continues: The bumper micro-switches or front IR sensor PCB may be faulty. This typically requires removing the top cover to access and replace the front bumper sensor assembly.
