Possible Causes
Shorted charging contacts, Damaged dock power adapter, Faulty dock PCB, Internal battery protection circuit tripped
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dock from the wall before inspecting it. Turn OFF the robot before cleaning contacts.
- 1. Inspect contacts: Check the robot and dock charging contacts for bent pins, corrosion, or foreign objects. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
- 2. Check power adapter: Ensure the dock's power adapter cable is not frayed or damaged. If possible, test with a compatible replacement adapter.
- 3. Try a different outlet: Plug the dock into another known-good outlet to rule out wiring issues.
- 4. Reset robot: With the robot off the dock, turn it OFF, wait 30 seconds, then turn it ON again and place it back on the dock.
- 5. Inspect dock PCB (advanced): If comfortable, open the dock housing and inspect the dock PCB for burn marks or damaged components.
- 6. Replace components: Replace the charging dock if it is not supplying stable power. If the dock is known good, the robot's charging circuit on the main board or the battery pack may need replacement by a technician.
