Possible Causes
Weak Wi‑Fi signal at dock location, Incorrect Wi‑Fi password or band, Internal Wi‑Fi module failure, Antenna cable disconnected
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Network troubleshooting does not involve electrical exposure, but avoid opening the robot unless necessary.
- 1. Check Wi‑Fi band: Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz network, as many iHome robot vacuums do not support 5 GHz for setup.
- 2. Move dock closer: Place the charging dock within 10–15 feet of your router and away from thick walls or metal objects.
- 3. Reset Wi‑Fi on robot: Follow the user manual to enter Wi‑Fi pairing mode (usually by holding a specific button until a Wi‑Fi indicator blinks). Re-add the robot in the iHome app.
- 4. Verify password: Double-check that you are entering the correct Wi‑Fi password and that the SSID does not contain unsupported characters.
- 5. Router reboot: Restart your router and modem, then attempt pairing again.
- 6. Internal check (advanced): If the robot never enters pairing mode or the Wi‑Fi LED never lights, open the housing and verify that the Wi‑Fi module and its antenna cable are securely connected to the main PCB.
- 7. Replace Wi‑Fi module: If the module is physically damaged or non-responsive, replace the iHome Wi‑Fi module or the entire main control board as specified for your model.
