Possible Causes
Clogged filters restricting airflow, Vacuum fan overheating, Battery overheating, Blocked ventilation openings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock. Allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes before further inspection.
- 1. Check ventilation: Ensure that the exhaust vents on the robot are not blocked by dust or placed against walls or furniture while charging.
- 2. Clean filters and bin: Remove the dust bin and filter. Empty the bin and clean the filter as recommended in the manual. A clogged filter can cause the fan to overheat.
- 3. Inspect fan area: Look into the suction path for blockages that could strain the fan motor.
- 4. Battery temperature: After cooling, open the battery compartment and feel the battery pack. If it becomes excessively hot during short runs, the battery may be failing.
- 5. Test after cooling: Once fully cooled and cleaned, run a short cleaning cycle and monitor temperature. If E16 recurs quickly, stop use.
- 6. Replace components: Replace a failing vacuum fan motor assembly or battery pack as needed. Persistent overheating may also require replacing the main control board if its temperature sensor is faulty.
