Possible Causes

Dust bin not fully inserted, Dust bin presence switch stuck, Broken dust bin tab, Dust bin sensor wiring loose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock.

  • 1. Reinsert dust bin: Remove the dust bin completely and then slide it back in firmly until you hear or feel a click. Ensure no debris is blocking the bin rails.
  • 2. Inspect bin tabs: Check the plastic tabs or protrusions on the dust bin that engage the internal switch. If they are broken or worn, the robot may not detect the bin; replace the dust bin.
  • 3. Clean the switch area: Look inside the bin compartment for a small lever or switch. Use compressed air to blow out dust and ensure it moves freely.
  • 4. Test again: Power ON the robot and see if the E8 error clears when the bin is reinserted.
  • 5. Internal wiring check (advanced): If the error persists, remove the top cover and verify that the dust bin sensor harness is securely connected to the main PCB and that the switch is not physically broken.
  • 6. Replace sensor or bin: Replace the dust bin presence switch or the entire dust bin assembly if damaged.
