Possible Causes
Dock IR beacon blocked, Dock placed in poor location, Robot IR receiver window dirty, Mapping data corrupted
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal access is required for basic troubleshooting.
- 1. Reposition dock: Place the dock against a flat wall with at least 1 meter (3 ft) of clear space on each side and in front. Avoid corners and behind furniture.
- 2. Clean IR windows: Wipe the front of the dock and the front of the robot (where the IR receiver is located) with a soft cloth.
- 3. Remove obstacles: Ensure there are no objects directly in front of the dock that could block the IR signal.
- 4. Reset map: If your iHome model supports mapping, delete the existing map in the app and allow the robot to create a new one.
- 5. Test return‑to‑dock: Start a cleaning cycle and then press the Home/Dock button to see if the robot can locate the dock reliably.
