Possible Causes
Dust under button membrane, Worn button contacts, Loose control panel ribbon cable, Liquid spill damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock before opening the top cover.
- 1. Try app control: Verify that the robot responds to app commands. If it does, the issue is likely with the physical buttons only.
- 2. Clean around buttons: Wipe the top panel with a slightly damp cloth to remove grime. Do not let liquid seep into the buttons.
- 3. Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the top cover and inspect the keypad PCB and ribbon cable. Ensure the cable is firmly connected to the main board.
- 4. Replace keypad panel: If buttons remain unresponsive, replace the iHome top control panel / keypad board.
