Possible Causes

Clogged HEPA filter restricting airflow, Dustbin full and blocking intake, Suction channel blocked by debris, Suction motor cooling vents obstructed

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock. Allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes before further use.

Step-by-step:

  • Empty dustbin: Remove the dustbin and empty all contents. Tap gently to dislodge compacted dust.
  • Clean or replace filter: Remove the HEPA and pre‑filters. Tap them against a trash can to remove dust. If washable per manual, rinse and dry completely for at least 24 hours. Replace if heavily soiled or deformed.
  • Check suction path: Inspect the suction inlet and internal channels for clumps of dust, paper, or pet hair. Remove any obstructions.
  • Inspect cooling vents: On some ILIFE models, suction motor vents are on the side or rear. Ensure they are not blocked by dust buildup.
  • Test after cooling: Reassemble, then run the robot in a short test cycle. Monitor for normal suction sound and absence of E12.

If E12 recurs quickly: The suction motor may be failing or its temperature sensor may be faulty. Motor replacement is recommended.
