Possible Causes

Foreign metal object shorting motor terminals, Severely jammed motor (wheel, brush, side brush), Damaged wiring harness with exposed conductors, Failed motor driver IC on main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Immediately turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock. Do not continue to power it if you smell burning or see smoke.

Step-by-step:

  • Inspect underside: Look for metal objects (paperclips, screws, pins) stuck near motors or wiring. Remove them.
  • Check all rotating parts: Ensure both drive wheels, main brush, and side brush spin freely by hand. Clear any jams.
  • Inspect wiring (advanced): If comfortable, remove the bottom cover and visually inspect wiring harnesses for melted insulation or pinched wires. Do not touch components if they are hot.
  • Do not bypass protection: Never attempt to bridge fuses or protection devices.

If E18 recurs or any component appears burnt: Stop using the robot and seek professional service. The main control board or motor assemblies may need replacement.
