Possible Causes

Side brush tangled with cords or carpet fringe, Hair wrapped around side brush shaft, Side brush motor gearbox jammed, Side brush caught under low furniture edge

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and flip it over.

Step-by-step:

  • Remove side brush: Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw holding the side brush, then pull the brush off the shaft.
  • Clean the brush: Remove hair and threads from the bristles and hub.
  • Clean the shaft area: Inspect the motor shaft and surrounding area for wrapped hair. Use tweezers to pull it out.
  • Check motor rotation: Gently turn the shaft with your fingers. It should rotate with slight resistance but not be stuck.
  • Reinstall or replace brush: If the brush is deformed or bristles are bent flat, replace it. Refit the brush and tighten the screw snugly, not excessively.
  • Test on clear floor: Place the robot on an open area free of cords and long fringes and start a cleaning cycle.

If E7 continues: The side brush motor may be failing or its driver circuit on the main board may be damaged. Motor replacement is usually required.
