Possible Causes

Dirty charging contacts on robot or dock, Dock power adapter not fully plugged in, Charging contact springs stuck, Internal battery protection tripped

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the charging dock from the wall before cleaning contacts.

Step-by-step:

  • Inspect dock power: Plug the adapter firmly into the dock and wall outlet. Confirm the dock indicator light (if present) is on.
  • Clean charging contacts: On the robot and dock, wipe the metal charging pads with a dry cloth. For heavy oxidation, lightly rub with a pencil eraser, then wipe clean.
  • Check contact springs: Ensure the dock's metal contacts move freely when pressed and spring back. If stuck, gently work them in and out.
  • Seat robot manually: Place the robot on the dock so the contacts align. Look for charging indicators on the robot (LEDs or display icon).
  • Power reset: Turn the robot OFF with the main switch, wait 30 seconds, then turn ON while on the dock.

If E8 persists and the robot never shows charging: The internal battery pack, charging board, or dock may be faulty. Battery replacement is common after 2–3 years of use.
