Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Place the robot on a flat, hard floor. Do not hold it in the air while turning it on.
Step-by-step:
- Reset on level surface: Turn the robot OFF, wait 20–30 seconds, then turn it ON without moving it.
- Check wheel suspension: Flip the robot and press each drive wheel up and down. They should move freely and spring back. Clean any debris around the wheel wells.
- Clean underside sensors: Wipe all underside sensors (cliff and wheel drop sensors) with a microfiber cloth.
- Avoid starting on thick rugs: Start the robot on a firm surface, then let it climb onto rugs by itself.
If E9 appears even when the robot is flat and undisturbed: The internal tilt or wheel drop sensor may be defective and require board-level repair or replacement.
