Possible Causes

Dock placed in cramped or obstructed area, IR docking sensor dirty, Strong ambient light interference, Dock power off or adapter faulty

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Keep the robot on the floor while testing docking behavior.

Step-by-step:

  • Reposition dock: Place the dock against a wall with at least 1.5 m (5 ft) clear in front and 0.5 m (1.5 ft) on each side. Avoid corners and under furniture.
  • Verify dock power: Ensure the dock's indicator light is on and the adapter is firmly plugged in.
  • Clean IR windows: Wipe the front IR window on the robot and the dock's IR window with a soft cloth.
  • Reduce interference: Close blinds if strong sunlight hits the dock area. Move mirrors or shiny metal objects away.
  • Test homing: Start the robot a few meters from the dock and press the Home button. Observe its path.

If the robot consistently fails to see the dock even at close range: The IR docking sensor or dock emitter may be faulty and require replacement.
