Possible Causes

Main multi-surface brushes clogged with hair or debris, Brush bearings seized, Brush motor gearbox jammed, Brush cage not fully latched

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Power off the robot and remove it from the Home Base before servicing. Flip it over on a towel to avoid scratching.

Steps to resolve:

  • Remove the brush cage: Press the yellow or green tabs on the brush guard/cage and lift it off.
  • Remove brushes: Lift out both main brushes (rubber extractors or bristle/rubber combo depending on model).
  • Clean brushes thoroughly: Use the included cleaning tool or scissors to cut and pull hair, string, and carpet fibers from the brush surfaces and ends.
  • Clean brush bearings and caps: Remove the yellow/green end caps and bearings from each brush. Clear hair wrapped around the shafts and inside the caps. Ensure they spin freely.
  • Inspect brush motor cavity: Look into the brush compartment for debris, small toys, or impacted dust. Vacuum or gently brush out the cavity.
  • Reassemble correctly: Reinstall the brushes in their correct positions (matching shapes/colors), reinstall end caps, and snap the brush cage closed until it clicks.
  • Reset and test: Press CLEAN to start a test run. Listen for smooth brush operation without grinding or squealing.

When to replace parts: If Error 2 returns quickly after a full cleaning, the main brush motor module or brush bearings may be worn or damaged and should be replaced.
