Possible Causes

Left drive wheel jammed by hair or debris, Damaged left wheel motor, Faulty left wheel encoder, Broken or loose left wheel wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Power OFF the robot and place it upside down on a soft cloth.

  • 1. Inspect the left wheel:
    • Rotate the left drive wheel by hand. It should turn smoothly with some resistance.
    • Remove any hair, string, or debris wrapped around the wheel axle or trapped in the wheel well.
  • 2. Clean wheel cavity:
    • Use tweezers or a small brush to clear debris from the wheel housing.
    • Check that the wheel can move up and down freely (suspension action).
  • 3. Reset and test:
    • Turn the robot back ON and start a cleaning cycle on a flat surface.
    • If it moves briefly then shows E4 again, the motor or encoder may be failing.
  • 4. Advanced inspection:
    • Remove the bottom cover and locate the left wheel module.
    • Check the wheel motor connector to the main board for a secure fit and no corrosion.
  • 5. Replacement:
    • If the wheel feels rough, clicks, or does not respond, replace the left wheel motor assembly.
