How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not cover cliff sensors permanently; this can cause falls.
- 1. Clean sensors:
- Wipe all downward-facing cliff sensor windows with a dry microfiber cloth.
- 2. Test on light floor:
- Move the robot to a light-colored hard floor and run a cleaning cycle.
- 3. Adjust environment:
- Avoid using the robot on very dark or glossy black carpets if it consistently misreads them as cliffs.
- 4. Firmware update:
- Check the Kyvol app for firmware updates that may improve sensor calibration.
- 5. Hardware service:
- If false cliff detection occurs on all surfaces, the cliff sensor module may need replacement.
