Possible Causes
Left or right drive wheel jammed with debris, Wheel suspension full of hair, Drive motor gearbox damaged, Drive motor cable disconnected
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Power off the robot and remove it from the dock.
- Inspect drive wheels: Turn the robot over. Rotate each large drive wheel by hand. They should turn smoothly and spring up and down freely.
- Remove debris: Use tweezers or a pick to remove hair, threads, and fibers wrapped around the wheel axles and inside the wheel wells.
- Check suspension: Press each wheel up and down. It should move freely without sticking. Clean any dirt buildup around the suspension arms.
- Test movement: Place the robot on a flat surface and start a cleaning cycle. Observe whether both wheels turn.
- If one wheel is dead or noisy: The corresponding drive motor or gearbox is likely failing and must be replaced. This involves removing the bottom cover, disconnecting the motor harness from the main PCB, and swapping the wheel motor module.
