Possible Causes
IR receiver window dirty or blocked, Charging dock IR emitter obstructed, Dock placed in poor location, IR receiver circuit failure on robot
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Keep the robot powered but do not place fingers on the charging contacts while plugged in.
- Step 1 – Clean IR windows: On the front of the robot and the dock, locate the dark plastic windows used for IR communication. Wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
- Step 2 – Reposition dock: Place the dock against a wall with at least 0.5 m (1.5 ft) clear space on both sides and 1.5 m (5 ft) clear in front. Avoid direct sunlight or mirrors facing the dock.
- Step 3 – Test return-to-dock: Start the robot a few meters away and press the Home button (on robot or app). Observe whether it detects and approaches the dock.
- Step 4 – Check dock power: Ensure the dock’s indicator light is on. Try another outlet if necessary.
- If E10 persists: The IR receiver module or associated circuitry on the robot may be faulty and require replacement.
