Possible Causes

Front wall-following IR sensor dirty, Sensor window scratched or covered, IR sensor board failure, Loose sensor cable to mainboard

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF the robot before cleaning sensors.

  • Step 1 – Locate wall sensor: On many Lefant models, a small IR sensor is located on the side or front of the bumper for wall-following.
  • Step 2 – Clean sensor window: Wipe the sensor window with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Remove any stickers or protective films that may block it.
  • Step 3 – Inspect for damage: Check for cracks or deep scratches. If the plastic window is severely damaged, the sensor may misread obstacles.
  • Step 4 – Test navigation: Power ON the robot and run it along a wall. If it repeatedly crashes or cannot detect walls, the sensor may be faulty.
  • Advanced: Remove the front bumper and access the wall sensor PCB. Ensure the connector is firmly seated on the mainboard.
  • Repair: Replace the wall sensor board if cleaning and reseating cables do not resolve E11.
