Possible Causes

Mop water tank not installed correctly, Water tank detection switch not actuated, Corroded water tank contacts, Faulty water tank sensor on mainboard

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF the robot and remove the water tank. Do not spill water into the robot body.

  • Step 1 – Remove and inspect water tank: Check the tank for cracks, leaks, or deformed mounting tabs.
  • Step 2 – Clean contacts and switch: If your Lefant model uses electrical contacts, wipe them dry and clean on both the tank and robot. If it uses a mechanical switch, ensure the tank tab fully presses the switch.
  • Step 3 – Reinstall tank: Slide the tank straight in until it clicks. Confirm it is flush with the robot’s body.
  • Step 4 – Test without water: Install the empty tank and start a mopping mode to see if E12 appears. If it works empty but fails when filled, check for leaks onto the sensor area.
  • Repair: If the detection switch or sensor circuit is faulty, the water tank sensor or mainboard may need replacement.
