Possible Causes
Dust buildup on fan impeller, Fan motor bearings worn, Fan tachometer sensor failure, Obstruction in exhaust path
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF the robot and disconnect from the dock. Do not insert objects into the fan opening while powered.
- Step 1 – Clean dustbin and filters: Remove the dustbin and filters, clean thoroughly, and ensure airflow is not restricted.
- Step 2 – Inspect exhaust vents: Check the exhaust grille on the robot body for lint or dust buildup. Clean with a soft brush.
- Step 3 – Listen to fan: Power ON the robot and start cleaning. Listen for abnormal fan noises (rattling, grinding). If present, the fan bearings may be failing.
- Step 4 – Advanced disassembly: If comfortable, open the robot’s top cover to access the fan module. Remove the fan unit and clean dust from the impeller and housing.
- Repair: Replace the fan motor assembly if the tachometer sensor or bearings are defective.
