Possible Causes

Blocked air vents causing fan overheating, Fan motor drawing excessive current, Battery temperature too high, Robot used in very hot environment

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: If the robot feels hot, turn it OFF immediately and let it cool. Do not charge a hot battery.

  • Step 1 – Allow cooling: Move the robot to a cool, shaded area and let it sit powered OFF for at least 30 minutes.
  • Step 2 – Clean ventilation: Inspect and clean all air inlets and exhaust vents. Remove dust from the fan exhaust grille and dustbin filters.
  • Step 3 – Check environment: Avoid using the robot in rooms above 35°C (95°F) or in direct sunlight.
  • Step 4 – Test again: After cooling and cleaning, power ON and start a short cleaning cycle. Monitor for recurrence of E17.
  • Service: If E17 appears quickly even in a cool room, the temperature sensor on the battery or mainboard may be faulty, or the fan/battery is overheating abnormally and should be inspected by a technician.
