Possible Causes

Battery pack degraded or failed, Battery temperature sensor (NTC) open or shorted, Loose battery connector, Charging circuit fault on mainboard

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF the robot and disconnect it from the dock before opening any covers. Do not puncture or crush the battery.

  • Step 1 – Basic check: Ensure the robot is correctly seated on the dock and that the dock is plugged into a working outlet. Clean the charging contacts on both the robot and dock with a dry cloth.
  • Step 2 – Inspect battery level: If the robot shuts off quickly or cannot start cleaning even after hours on the dock, the battery may be failing.
  • Step 3 – Access battery compartment: Turn the robot over and remove the battery cover (usually held by 1–2 screws). Carefully lift the battery pack.
  • Step 4 – Check connections: Verify the battery connector is firmly plugged into the robot’s wiring harness. Look for corrosion or burnt marks.
  • Step 5 – Replace battery: If the pack is swollen, damaged, or very old, replace it with an original or compatible Lefant lithium-ion battery pack of the same voltage and capacity. Connect the new pack, secure it, and reinstall the cover.
  • Step 6 – Charge fully: Place the robot on the dock and allow it to charge uninterrupted for at least 4–6 hours before testing.
  • If E8 remains: The charging circuit or battery temperature sensing on the mainboard may be defective and requires professional repair.
