Possible Causes

Dustbin not fully inserted, Dustbin presence switch stuck or broken, Magnetic or optical dustbin sensor failure, Wiring harness to dustbin sensor loose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF the robot before removing the dustbin.

  • Step 1 – Remove and inspect dustbin: Take out the dustbin and check for cracks or deformation that might prevent proper seating.
  • Step 2 – Clean sensor area: Look inside the dustbin bay for a small switch, lever, or magnetic sensor. Clean the area with a dry cloth to remove dust buildup.
  • Step 3 – Reinsert dustbin firmly: Slide the dustbin back in until it clicks. Ensure no filter tabs or gaskets are preventing full insertion.
  • Step 4 – Test: Power ON the robot and start a cleaning cycle. Gently tap the dustbin to confirm it is secure.
  • Advanced: If the error persists, open the robot’s top cover to access the dustbin sensor switch or magnetic reed sensor. Check that it actuates when the bin is inserted and that the wiring is intact.
  • Repair: Replace the dustbin sensor or mainboard if the sensor is non-functional.
