Possible Causes

Main brush bearings worn or dry, Debris inside main brush gearbox, Fan motor bearings worn, Foreign object trapped in brush housing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock before inspection.

  • Step 1 – Isolate noise source: Run the robot briefly while holding it and listen to determine if the noise comes from the brush area, fan exhaust, or wheels.
  • Step 2 – Service main brush: Remove the main brush and end caps. Clean and lubricate the bearing surfaces lightly with a dry PTFE lubricant (avoid oils that attract dust). Replace the brush if the shaft is worn.
  • Step 3 – Check for trapped objects: Inspect the brush housing and suction inlet for small hard objects (stones, screws) and remove them.
  • Step 4 – Fan noise: If noise is from the exhaust, the fan bearings may be worn. This requires replacing the fan assembly.
  • Step 5 – Wheel noise: If noise is from wheels, inspect wheel modules for broken gears or debris.
