Possible Causes

Clogged air path or filter, Severely dirty HEPA filter, Foreign object in fan housing, Failed suction fan motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Power off the robot and remove the dustbin before accessing filters or fan areas.

  • 1. Empty dustbin: Remove and empty the dustbin. Check for blockages at the bin inlet and outlet.
  • 2. Clean or replace filters: Remove the pre-filter and HEPA filter from the dustbin. Tap them gently over a trash can to remove dust. If the HEPA filter is heavily soiled or older than the recommended interval, replace it with a compatible LG filter.
  • 3. Check suction inlet: Look into the suction channel from the brush area to the dustbin. Remove any clogs (paper, toys, large debris) using a flexible brush or vacuum.
  • 4. Inspect fan noise: With the bin removed, briefly power on the robot and start cleaning to listen for the fan. If the fan does not spin or makes grinding noises, the fan motor may be obstructed or failing.
  • 5. Advanced cleaning: If accessible, remove the top cover to reach the fan housing. Open the housing and clear any debris from the impeller. If the motor shaft is loose or the windings smell burnt, replace the fan motor assembly.
