Possible Causes
Dirty or scratched front sensor window, Misaligned ToF sensor module, Failed ToF sensor IC, Loose sensor cable to main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the robot before cleaning or opening the housing.
- 1. Clean front sensor window: Identify the small clear/dark window on the front used by the distance sensor. Wipe it gently with a microfiber cloth.
- 2. Check for damage: Inspect the window for cracks or deep scratches that could distort the sensor beam. Replace the front cover if damaged.
- 3. Reboot and test: Power cycle the robot and run a short cleaning cycle in an open area to see if the error returns.
- 4. Advanced inspection: If the error persists, remove the front/top cover to access the ToF sensor board. Ensure the board is firmly mounted and the ribbon cable or harness is fully seated in the main PCB connector.
- If the sensor remains non-functional after reseating and cleaning, the ToF module itself is likely defective and should be replaced.
