Possible Causes
Dirty docking sensor window, Misaligned charging station, Failed IR docking receiver, Loose internal connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and unplug the charging station before moving it.
Steps:
- 1. Clean docking sensors: Wipe the front and underside sensor windows on the robot and the IR window on the dock with a soft, dry cloth.
- 2. Reposition dock: Place the dock on a flat, hard surface with clear space around it. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or under strong spotlights.
- 3. Manual docking test: Place the robot about 1–2 meters in front of the dock and press the Home/Dock button. Observe whether it detects and approaches the station correctly.
When to call a technician: If F16 persists and the robot cannot detect the dock even at close range, the docking IR receiver or associated circuitry may be defective. Service is required to replace the docking sensor or main PCB.
