Possible Causes
Dock placed in poor location, Obstructed IR docking signal, Dirty docking sensors, Weak battery preventing return
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dock before moving it.
Steps:
- 1. Reposition dock: Place the dock against a straight wall on a hard, flat surface with at least 0.5 m of free space on each side and 1.5 m in front.
- 2. Clean docking sensors: Wipe the robot’s front and underside sensors and the dock’s IR window with a soft, dry cloth.
- 3. Reduce obstacles: Remove objects near the dock that may block the IR signal or physically obstruct docking.
- 4. Check battery health: If the robot often stops far from the dock with low battery, the battery may be weak and need replacement.
When to call a technician: If the robot cannot detect the dock even when placed nearby, the docking sensor or IR receiver may be faulty and require service.
