Possible Causes

LDS data inconsistent, Wheel encoders misreading, Excessive reflective or dark surfaces, Firmware navigation bug

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Keep the robot on the floor while testing navigation.

  • Environment check: Remove highly reflective objects (mirrors at floor level, shiny metal) and very dark rugs from the immediate test area.
  • Clean sensors: Wipe the LDS window, front bumper sensors, and cliff sensors with a dry microfiber cloth.
  • Reboot and remap: Reboot the robot and, if supported, delete the existing map. Start a new mapping run in a simpler layout.
  • If errors persist: A failing LDS, wheel encoder, or main board can cause repeated navigation errors. Component-level diagnosis or replacement may be required.
