Possible Causes
Laser Distance Sensor (LDS) obstruction, LDS motor not spinning, Dirty wall or drop sensors, Firmware navigation glitch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the robot OFF before touching the laser turret.
- Check the laser turret (LDS): On top of the robot, locate the round turret. Gently look through the window to ensure no dust, tape, or stickers are blocking it. Do not insert objects inside.
- Verify LDS rotation: Power the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle while watching the turret. It should spin smoothly. If it does not spin or is jerky, power OFF and continue below.
- Clean sensors: Wipe the LDS window and front/side IR sensors with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid liquids.
- Reboot the robot: Perform a full reboot (or factory reset if recommended in the user manual) to clear navigation errors.
- If LDS still fails: The LDS motor or sensor assembly may be defective. Replacement of the LDS module is typically required and may be best done by a technician.
