Possible Causes
Main brush bearings worn, Foreign object in brush housing, Drive wheel gearbox worn, Suction fan bearing failing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock.
- Step 1 – Isolate source: Run the robot briefly while upside down (hold it securely) to identify whether noise comes from brushes, wheels, or suction fan. Turn it OFF immediately after checking.
- Step 2 – Inspect main brush: Remove the main brush and end caps. Clean hair from bearings and check for flat spots or cracks. Replace the brush if damaged.
- Step 3 – Check side brushes: Remove side brushes and run the robot; if noise disappears, replace the noisy side brush or its motor.
- Step 4 – Listen to wheels: Manually spin each drive wheel. Grinding or clicking indicates a worn gearbox; replace the wheel module.
- Step 5 – Fan noise: If noise is from inside the body and changes with suction level, the fan motor bearings may be failing and the suction motor should be replaced.
