Possible Causes

Robot stuck on threshold or cable, One wheel hanging in the air, Faulty tilt sensor, Misread from cliff sensors on dark flooring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot before moving it.

  • Relocate robot: Move the robot to a flat, open area away from thresholds, cables, and rugs with high edges.
  • Check wheels and suspension: Ensure both drive wheels and the front caster are touching the floor and move freely.
  • Clean cliff sensors: Wipe the underside cliff sensors with a soft cloth to prevent false readings.
  • Restart cleaning: Turn the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle. Observe whether it still reports E16.
  • Persistent E16: If the robot frequently reports being lifted when it is not, the tilt sensor or related circuitry may be faulty and require service.
